Financial Assistance

Are you out of work due to Covid-19 and worried about losing your housing? There is a moratorium on evictions in New Orleans until mid-April, but the law is only good if it is enforced, and mid-April is only a few weeks away. 

Have you applied to rent or financial assistance programs only to be turned down because you don't have tax documents, bank statements, W-2s, 1099s or other financial documents regarding your income? 

Our goal is to be able to give out financial rent assistance specifically to those who do not qualify for other programs. Our rent assistance program will not require you to produce any of the above.

If you are looking for a non-confrontational way to speak to your landlord about rent reductions during this time, we have created 

a sample letter that you may use to initiate contact (use of this letter & tips does not constitute legal advise, nor does it guarantee that your landlord will comply with your request):

​If you do have financial documentation for your income, you may be eligible for some of the following:

   - New Orleans Business Alliance Relief Fund - for tourism workers, gig worker, uber drivers, etc. who have documented income

   - USBG Foundation Charity Fund - for bartenders and servers

   - LaWorks Unemployment Benefits - for anyone with documented income and an employer

   - Creative Capital Artist Assistance - list of resources of artists 

   - Greater New Orleans Foundation - grants for service industry workers affected by Covid-19

   - MACCNO Covid-19 Assistance - artist and musician assistance & list of resources
